For this next stage I needed to Orient the controllers to their respective joints, as well as parent some of the joints together to allow them to move correctly. In order to do this, I began with the wrist. I created a Null Group which I then snapped into place. I then selected forearm and then the Null Group at the wrist and applied an Orient constraint to them.
I was then able to delete what appeared in the Null Group and parent the respective control to the group (for example, elbow controller would be the parent of the group at the wrist, which was renamed "LeftWristOrientGroup")
Once these were parented together I was able to freeze the transformations without it sending the line of rotation back to where it originally was. The movement of the hand was now influenced by the movement of the elbow without it changing the values of the hand!
Once this had been done all over the body, I was left with a new Orient group for each area which what I wanted.
Any Issues?
I did actually have a minor set back during this process, I was very near the end when I noticed parts of my skeleton were vanishing. After looking through what I had done and referring back to the video guides, I realised that I had Parenting the joints and not the controllers themselves! Luckily I had saved my work before this occurred so I was able to re-open it and get it done in no time.
