Developing this little guy!

I began by just doodling some ideas in my notebook as to what I would like him to look like, and just went from there!
He started off by looking a bit like Humpty Dumpty so I knew I would need to add a hair and colour which would make him look more distinctive, but I loved the facial features, I think they make him look really fed up which is what I wanted.

I continued by playing around with the possible hair styles he could have, keeping in mind that drawing hair on men is not my best strength! This did crack up a few giggles when other people were flicking through my sketchbook, but that was a change from the usual "What on earth goes on in your head?!"

After deciding on the hair I wanted to crack on with experimentation with colour so I used watercolour because this is the fastest medium for me. In the end I went for the blue hair because lets face it, its cooler.
